Bio
Abandoned and left for dead by her arms dealer father because he was promised a son, Ozama was adopted by a pair of human Starfleet officers on the USS Venture. Ozama was raised on a Galaxy-class ship and with Federation values. She had only indirectly learned of her ferengi heritage until encountering Quark and her cousin Nog when the Venture visited DS9 in 2372. It was learning of Nog's admission into Starfleet Acadmey that inspired Ozama to do the same. She proved to be highly capable officer and rose quickly through the ranks by adopting Ferengi culture to the aspirations and ideals of Starfleet: to Ozama respect, authority and clout are the accrual of social profit.
She serves as an inspiration to young ferengi women who have taken an interest her holonovel "The Rules of Ambition: How to Accure Social Profit." Ozama's personal re-examination of the Rules of Acquisition as explored through her upbringing within the Federation is still largely banned as "utter nonsense" on Ferenginar even in the years following the Grand Nagus amending the Bill of Opportunities that advanced the position of female ferengi within their society.
Ozama is closely involved in ongoing reforms amongst her people and maintains regular contact with her aunt Ishka who has always been a considerable influence and inspiration to her as well as her cousin now Grand Nagus Rom whom she is very close with. As such Ozama regularly finds herself as a primary liaison between the Ferengi and the Federation.
