Vathi is natural engineer, having an almost inherent understanding of energy-based systems especially ones reliant on Dilithium. She was born and raised on Mars and frequently spent time with her mother and father who both work in the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. Vathi is a recent graduate of Starfleet Academy and has quickly proven herself and her skill with ship-based power systems, allowing her to graduate with the provision rank of Lt. Junior Grade. When she was presented with an opening to join the USS Rubins she jumped at the occasion to work with Lt. Esha O'Brien and the rest of the Rubin's crew.
